Latest Express Entry Draw Results: 4,800 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Canadian Permanent Residence

On June 8, 2023, Canada conducted its most recent Express Entry draw. Here are the details and outcomes of the draw:

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) successfully completed its 14th round of invitations for Express Entry in 2023. A total of 4,800 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence (PR) in Canada were issued. It’s worth noting that this is the second consecutive draw where IRCC has issued 4,800 ITAs. This draw marks IRCC’s ninth all-program draw of the year and the first draw since the official announcement last week, indicating that category-based Express Entry draws are expected to begin later this summer.

Important Note: All-program draws consider applicants from all three Express Entry programs, namely the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), for an ITA.

The candidates who received an ITA in today’s draw had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 486. This cut-off score is two points lower than the previous all-program draw on May 24, 2023, which had a minimum CRS score of 488.

For those who did not receive an ITA in this draw, IRCC is expected to issue the next round of invitations in two weeks.

Understanding Express Entry

Express Entry is Canada’s primary federal immigration application management system. It handles immigration applications from three programs: the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).

These programs assist the Canadian government in attracting skilled foreign workers, which is crucial for the country’s economic and social development. In exchange for their contributions to the Canadian workforce, international skilled workers who wish to immigrate to Canada are granted permanent residence, providing them with the same rights and freedoms as Canadian-born citizens.

To become a Canadian permanent resident through Express Entry, interested candidates must first verify their eligibility for at least one of the three programs under the application management system. Eligible candidates can then create an online profile on IRCC’s website, which will include them in the pool of candidates eligible to receive an ITA through an Express Entry draw.

Candidates must wait for IRCC to conduct the next round of invitations, which typically occurs every two weeks. During these draws, eligible candidates in the pool with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score above the cut-off score for that specific draw will receive an ITA for Canadian permanent residence.

Once an ITA is received, candidates transition from being an Express Entry candidate to an Express Entry applicant. They then have 60 days to submit an electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR) to IRCC.

By providing a streamlined and efficient pathway to Canadian permanent residence, Express Entry facilitates the aspirations of skilled workers seeking a better future in Canada.
